ELTEC changes legal form and company name

ELTEC Elektronik AG is changing its company name and will be called Westermo Eltec GmbH from 20 June 2023 in order to clarify its affiliation with Westermo and to strengthen the brand name in the market. The high-tech company Westermo already acquired 100 % of the shares in ELTEC Elektronik AG in April 2021. The integration process is continuing apace.
With around 480 employees and sales and support offices throughout Europe, the USA, Singapore, China and Australia, Westermo, based in Västerås, Sweden, specialises in robust and reliable network solutions. Eltec, based in Mainz, Germany, in turn offers digital network and communication solutions "Made in Germany" for mobile applications in harsh environments, seamlessly complementing Westermo's product portfolio.
In the course of further integration, the Eltec brand logo and the website will be adapted. A key objective in the integration process is to bring all parts of the company in the DACH region (Eltec, Westermo Neratec and Westermo in Germany) even closer together and to dovetail them with each other. This should enable better use to be made of synergy effects in all business areas.
Marco Gerhard, who took over the overall management as Vice President DACH last year, says about the new company name: "The renaming was necessary in order to present a uniform brand image to the outside world and to strengthen the cohesion. We will merge Westermo and Eltec even further and optimise the coordination of the product portfolio in the areas of onboard connectivity and rail-related infrastructure in a future-oriented manner. This will enable us to release further potential for future innovations within the group in order to offer our customers the best possible products and sustainable support as a solution provider."
Westermo Eltec GmbH, headquartered in Mainz, Germany, offers digital networking and communication solutions for mobile applications in harsh environments. Since April 2021 Eltec has been part of Westermo – a business unit of the Swedish Ependion Group and a high-tech company specialized in data communication products for mission critical systems. As a technology driver, Westermo Eltec develops application-oriented system solutions based on innovative hardware and software for high-performance solutions around smart mobility and connectivity. The application focus is on rail and road transport. The product portfolio includes wireless access points, routers and gateways, modular computing platforms, data loggers and Ethernet switches.
